What did you think of the main character? Did you find yourself sympathizing with him, questioning his choices, or feeling differently as the movie progressed?
I loved the main character, his name is Matt Hagen. The entire time I was watching this movie I'm not going to lie I kept thinking about how pretty this man was and I don't know if it was the effect of who his character was or if he's genuinely that pretty I still don't know but I was in a trance.
I did find myself empathizing with him because he had it so good and he obviously wanted it so bad. He made a very bad decision because he was on a high and he was feeling good and he didn't think and he was in this place where he just couldn't think of the consequences and it costed him his life in a way that he could have never expected and it was one of those situations where you see that the character would have rather lost their life than what they went through. His choices in my opinion were justified because of the betrayal and the hurt that he went through but I do think that there's a thin line between doing the right thing and being vengeful.
Matt Hagen is a very complex character that I enjoyed watching and it was incredibly sad watching him lose himself in the way that he did because not once did he ever want to end up in that spot and all he ever wanted at least in the beginning is to have his life back. I think that was his goal for a long time until he realized that his life was taken from him because of the people he had around him and it was a lot bigger than the incident but he was set up and betrayed in order to change a person.
I completely understand why he felt the need to seek revenge for what he went through I think what changes him from someone who is vengeful to someone who has no way of returning and has lost their sanity is when he decides to murder the cop because at that point it was no longer Revenge it was complete self-interest. He didn't kill the cop because the cop did anything to him. He killed him because he was in the way of something that he wanted which is not what he was initially doing.
It was actually really sad for me to see that he was no longer the man that he was at the beginning of the movie and it wasn't just physically but it was mentally he lost himself completely and I do believe that there's a different meaning to it and you can see that Matt Hagen maybe truly never knew himself to begin with and he always struggled with his identity. I believe being an actor allowed him to be someone different and I'm not sure whether he lost himself before or during acting but what you can see is that he was consumed in being someone that is loved and acting gave that to him.

What do you think the movie was ultimately trying to say about identity, appearance, and how people are perceived by others?
I think the movie was ultimately trying to say that it is important to know who you truly are because I think when it comes to us as humans we get consumed by this need to be loved and have attention and it can cause us to become performers and develop into people that isn't really true to who we are.
Matt Hagen that only had these identity issues but his identity heavily depended on his appearance because as an actor how you look matters whether that's good or bad it puts you in this place even for certain roles and I think he got into a place where he idolized his looks and it became a much bigger part of him so much so that when he lost that part of himself he completely spiraled.
I understand why Matt went in such a dark place because he lost his friends in the life that he had built and he ultimately lost himself but I think aside from all of that not having his appearance made him feel worthless and I can see how he felt that way because it truly did cause him to lose everything which made the effect of it all worse.
When it comes to being perceived by others I think the biggest thing we can take from this movie is that at the end of the day we are just people to others and we all live in our own little worlds. I think that this movie is a good reminder that no one will have your back the way that you will but it also shows you how quickly people can change on you when you no longer benefit them.
I think it's also an important message of not allowing the perception of others to make or break you. We're all just people at the end of the day and no one's opinion is worth forming your identity around because that is not going to leave you anywhere good at the end of the day.

What scene, moment, or plot development stuck with you the most after the movie ended, and why?
My favorite scene of this entire movie and of many others is the club scene where they break out into a dance and it is so freaking cool how it was filmed and I absolutely love that scene it was my absolute favorite and I have been wanting to see it again since I went to the movies but of course it's not on YouTube or anything else yet and I'm have to baiting going back to the movies to watch this movie again just for that scene because it was so good.
The way that he sought out his vengeance for what happened to him against the mob was so cool but also it just really put the insane ability of his powers into perspective he is extremely powerful and is such an odd way that I find sort of unique because Clayface’s powers are not traditional in the slightest they're weird and I really like that.
Another scene that blew my mind was the very last scene in the movie where he is in the sewers and when I saw that I thought there is no way Caitlin is in the sewer with him that isn't happening and then when the camera panned out and he was basically her and himself at the same time it reminded me of what I imagine a maladaptive daydreaming episode looks like in the physical and I really hope you guys understand what I'm saying when I say that. It was insane and it blew my mind mostly because it shows that there is no return for him.
After everything that he went through and the way that him and Caitlin parted I thought okay he has come to terms with things and obviously he's alive but he's normal now he's just has come to terms with this new life that he has and that he cannot be out in the open anymore because of the decisions that he made but no he's legitimately insane and that moment proved that there is no going back to normalcy for him not just because of what he did but because he's mentally not there anymore and it was a crazy revelation and it I think it was perfect end to tie in the movie.
Overall this movie was a 10 out of 10 for me and I absolutely adored it and I cannot wait to see it again and I will probably get it on CD just because I loved it that much. It was definitely my favorite movie of the year and it's one of my favorite movies of all time now just because I love the adaptation of Clayface and it was brilliant. There are so many things I didn't even touch on like the relationships in this movie and the BODY HORROR?!.
I really hope DC keeps it up with the way that they're portraying their villains in this universe because so far I love this universe I know there is always going to be those people who you can't please but me personally this is doing it for me I have not been crazy about the past universes but this one so far it's got in the bag.
