Petal Album Review

 Petal: Ariana Grande

So I really like it. I see discourse already with people hating it but honestly? I feel like they think it's different so their not even giving it a chance. They listen one time and form an opinion. I had to get a feel at first like I do with most new music and I LOVE IT. It's so good and I love this sound from her. Yea it's different but thats what makes it good who wants to make the same music for the rest of their lives? That's boring personally. A lot of people wanted big vocals from her and it's almost like they expect it because they know she can do it but the fact is thats never been a question WE KNOW the girl can sing so she doesn't need to do all that to make a great album. She should be allowed to have fun and sing the way she wants. Big vocals aren't always needed. I hope she sees all the fans that support and love the album versus those who do not. My favorite songs so far are Kiss Me, Nobody, Nowhere, Like I Do, and Petal.

Oh and the petal music video was so good. I am proud of her for addressing some of the things said. I think she did it in a very unique and artistic way. Thats the best music video I've seen in a while.

Overall I hope she's enjoying the rest of her tour and her album release and that she is doing okay.

If you've listened, how do you feel about the album?

Thanks for reading! 🌸

Pehtul 🌻

Ari's new album, petal comes out tonight and I am so excited., I saw the clips from her latest concert where she was singing one of the new songs I think it was Petal, and I can tell she really likes her work. My favorite album of hers is Eternal Sunshine and I'm kind of sad the era is ending especially because that album got me through the worst time in my life but I'm proud of her and I think I'll really like petal, I already have the Hate That I Made You Love Me single on record.. I've been a fan of her's since I was in middle school and I'm glad I got to go to the concert before the start of something new. Ill attach some pictures for you guys to see. I did the Positions kitchen scene as my outfit.

I will update about how I like the album. Let me know if you've listened and what you thought.

I Wish Heels Were Casual Again 🎀

Oh how I Love A Cvnty Heel

Ever since I was a little girl, I thought being an adult meant wearing heels whenever I wanted.

Movies made it seem so normal. Women walked through grocery stores in stilettos, clicked confidently down sidewalks, wore tall boots with dresses, and somehow looked effortlessly put together. I genuinely believed that once I grew up, I'd spend my twenties collecting beautiful heels and wearing them everywhere.

Then I actually became an adult.

Suddenly everyone was wearing sneakers.

Don't get me wrong I understand why. They're practical, comfortable, and perfect for busy days. But somewhere along the way, heels became something you save for weddings, fancy dinners, or special occasions. They stopped feeling like an everyday choice.

And honestly?

I kind of miss the idea of heels being ordinary.

There's something about putting on a pair of heels that completely changes how I feel. It's not about impressing anyone else. It's about the confidence they give me, the creativity they represent, and the reminder that fashion can simply be fun.

One promise I made to myself when I entered my twenties was that I would stop waiting for permission to enjoy the things I love.

If I want to wear platform boots, I'm going to wear platform boots.

If I want a six-inch stiletto because it makes me feel fabulous, I'm going to wear it.

If I fall in love with loud Y2K heels covered in bows, polka dots, rhinestones, or faux fur, I'm not going to convince myself they're "too much."

Maybe they are.

But maybe "too much" is exactly the amount of joy I want in my closet.

So I'm slowly building my dream heel collection—not because I have somewhere fancy to go, but because collecting beautiful things that make me happy is reason enough.

My Favorite Heel Styles Right Now 🤍

👢 Platform stiletto boots (my forever favorite)

🎀 Y2K statement heels with bows, bold colors, and playful details

❄️ Knee-high boots for winter

✨ Chunky platforms that somehow make every outfit more fun

💖 Anything that makes me stop scrolling and immediately think, "I need those."

Life is too short to save your favorite shoes for "someday."

Maybe the grocery store deserves a fabulous pair of heels too.

What burnout taught me

Burnout is: a state of severe emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by long-term unmanaged stress.

I think we can all say we've experienced times where we are extremely exhausted. I myself have a habit of ignoring it and keeping it pushing, knowing good and well I need to take a break. I am a perfectionist which is my best and worst quality. It wasn't until recently that I thought being burned out was a weakness until it caused me to make bad judgement and I made a mistake that I couldn't take back. I had a Rory Gilmore meets bald Britney Spears moment if you will.

The most important thing I took from that experience is that had I been kinder to myself and honest with the way I was feeling, things may have turned out differently. Being exhausted from working hard isn't a weakness, it is human nature, and it's important you treat yourself as such. I thought if I could push through the exhaustion that meant I was strong, and smart but in reality that kind of thinking was immature. Once it was all over none of my effort was worth it. I had so much regret about not paying attention to what I already knew. I thought I was giving giving Elle Woods whole time I was walking around looking like a homeless person. I was very delusional at that time.

I think this can be applied to a lot of points in life. Do not push yourself too hard because it will not do you any good. Burnout is a warning and you can't get anything done if you do not take the time to rest and try to find ways to take care of yourself. That can be hard to do, especially in an academic setting with deadlines and exams to study for, but you owe it to yourself to at least try.

I hope someone can taking something from this. Thank you for reading! 🌸

The Little Things That Make Life Sweeter

Sometimes I think we spend so much time waiting for the big milestones that we forget how much joy can be found in the little things. A good book, your favorite song coming on, doing your makeup, finding the perfect outfit, watching the sunset, or even getting into bed

Those tiny moments might seem ordinary, but they're often the ones we remember most.

One of my favorite tiny moments is getting to cuddle up with snacks and blankets to watch a good movie after a long week.

What's one small thing that always makes your day a little sweeter?

What's your current side quest?

It is summer for mostly everyone I think. I just recently got back for Disney World and since then I haven't done much. I randomly decided to build this blog mostly because I realized I like to talk but not everyone around me has the same interests so what better way to do that than with a blog.

What are your side quest?

It doesn't have to be anything crazy it can be completely random. I would love to read about it in the comments. 🌸

Here are a few recurring "side quests" you can expect to see around the blog:

🎀 Sweet Side Quest Saturdays
Every Saturday, we'll dive into a new discussion topic! From friendships and college life to hobbies, books, social media, and everything in between, we'll have a new conversation each week.

📖 Book Corner
I'll share what I'm currently reading, book recommendations, reading updates, and I'd love to hear what books you're enjoying too!

🎬 Watchlist Wednesday (every now and then!)
Let's talk about movies, TV shows, anime, musicals, documentaries, or anything worth watching.

💌 Advice Corner
Have a question, need advice, or just want another perspective? This will be a place where we can encourage one another and share our thoughts with kindness and respect.

🎮 Side Quest of the Week
A small challenge to brighten your week! It could be something as simple as reading a chapter of a book, complimenting someone, trying something new, or taking a moment to appreciate a beautiful sunset.

🌸 Current Favorites
A little collection of things I'm loving lately—music, books, snacks, clothes, apps, hobbies, and anything else I think is worth sharing.

Of course, these are just a few ideas! This blog is meant to grow with all of us, so if there's a topic you'd love to discuss or a new series you'd like to see, please let me know in the comments. I'd love for this to be a place where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and joining the conversation.

After all, every great adventure starts with a side quest. 💗

Introduction

Welcome to Sweet Side Quest! 🌸

Hi! I'm so happy you're here.

If you somehow stumbled across this little blog, welcome! I hope you'll stay awhile.

Think of this as our cozy corner of the internet, a place where we can slow down, chat, laugh, share stories, ask for advice, and remind each other that none of us have life completely figured out. Whether you're in high school, college, your twenties, or beyond, there's always something worth talking about.

Here, no topic is too small. One day we might be discussing our latest favorite book, a movie that made us cry, a TV show we're obsessed with, or the soundtrack we've had on repeat all week. The next day we might be talking about friendships, relationships, family, school, growing up, social media, fashion, shopping, or simply trying to navigate life one step at a time.

Sometimes the best parts about life are the little side quests, the unexpected conversations, the lessons we learn, the silly moments that make us laugh, and the memories we don't realize we're making until later. That's exactly what I hope this blog becomes.

Most importantly, I want this to be a place where everyone feels welcome. Please be kind, respectful, and thoughtful toward one another. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences, and that's what makes conversations interesting. You don't have to agree with everyone, but we can always choose kindness.

This isn't a place to be perfect. It's a place to be honest, curious, and unapologetically yourself.

So grab your favorite drink, get comfortable, and join the conversation. If there's ever a topic you'd love to see discussed or something on your mind, don't be afraid to leave a comment. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to Sweet Side Quest.

I can't wait to see where this little adventure takes us!
